New build produces long continous beeps through the speaker (memory error?)

New build produces series of long “beeps“ through the speaker (memory error?). The mother board only has one of those notches that lock the ram so I think one of the sides is not properly in the socket even though it seems that its in the socket. Any advice on what could be the problem?

Motherboard: Gigabyte H110M S2H
Cpu: i5 7500 (according to the offical site the motherboard should support the cpu)
Ram: Crucial 1x8 gb DDR4 2400 mhz CL17
Psu: Evga supernova G1
Gpu: Xfx r9 290

First you could check manual, the series of beeps you can match in manual to see what's the error possibly. It's like a old car with OBD 1, it would flash engine light certain amount of times which would be the code. When installing ram, first put in the side that doesn't have the locking mechanism. Not at a huge angle of course. One side will slide in easy then the other side will just snap in. Pretty simple, you will not have to force the ram in.

have you tried moving the ram to another slot, or even pushing a little harder on the ram stick to be sure that it is in the right place? try removing the ram and reseating it, a ram stick not seated right is a common reason for a pc not to boot.

I tried swapping between the two slots but it still doesnt boot.

take one of the ram out of the socket and try putting it into the next socket, and boot again

Just had a gigabyte board do that to me, slot 1 not able to recognize anything, slot 2 works and boots normally, board is going back for rma

Fortunately I can borrow a skylake CPU tomorrow so we will see if BIOS update helps. Thanks for the advice.

Yes with one stick of memory you might have a bad stick but the memory controller needs to work so make sure your BIOS version supports the processor first.

Yes with one stick of memory you might have a bad stick but the memory controller needs to work so make sure your BIOS version supports the processor first.

I tried to boot with a Celeron G3900 but the speaker still produces the same sound. Any other ideas?

Reset CMOS and try the memory in the other slot.
Remove the video card and try the boards graphics.
Check the CPU socket on the board for bent pins then from their if you have all the power connectors pluged in right then bad memory or bad board.

None of those are worked so I'm returning both the motherboard as well as the ram.
