Hi all,

I've just set up a new build using the following parts:

Mobo: MSI 970 Gaming
CPU: AMD FX 4300
RAM: HyperX Savage 8Gb 2133Hz DDR3
PSU: Corsair VS350
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 4Gb

I currently have the build breadboarded with only the above parts and it produces a 5 beep POST indicating a CPU error. I RMA'd the mobo and CPU for replacements of the same, the system still produces a 5 beep POST.

I have also tested with an old GPU to rule out anything there (using an old ASUS GT610). I have also tried another, more powerful, PSU to rule out power shortages (Corsair CX750M).

I've checked and all the parts are compatible and seated well, the strange thing is I made a nearly identical build earlier this year, only differences being a Corsair CX750 PSU and the old GT 610 I mentioned earlier. Other that that the parts are all the same.

I'm at a loss people, any help would be appreciated and yes, I have run through the not booting/no POST checklist.

Did you try clearing CMOS and then trying again?

As per AMi BIOS specs, 5 beeps = processor error, so it would be the best to check CPU ( do not forget the CPU socket, as well). Check for damages or visible scratches around the CPU socket.

Make sure there are no bent pins.
