New build Purchasing parts tomorrow

OK so I am ordering parts tomorrow, I want to know if these parts will go good together? My budget is around 1k
I'm dead set on the case, and an nvidia gpu
I will be purchasing all the parts from newegg.

im also dead set that a fractal case would be much better than a inwin case, given my experience with a core 3000, a define R3 and R4 case. plus, its cheaper as well

normally id recommend a 7870 but then a 660 is cheaper right now

id suggest a mechanical keyboard over a membrane anyday. they are built better, they last way longer (50 million keystrokes vs 2 million), and are generally more comfortable to type on. made me type faster as well but that is different for anyone

id suggest buying from either us.ncix or newegg. us.ncix has price matching and free shipping. only the ram has to be bought at amazon. newegg sells it for 12 bucks more which is a scam almost

ok lets make it quick before you purchase :

- downgrade to a i5 3470 and you will not lose a single fps in any game.
- change the SSD to samsung 830 or hyper X 3k or OCZ vertex 3.

I wanted a samsung 830 256gb, but it was sold out on newegg, I am purchasing all the parts from newegg only, so can anyone recommend a reliable SSD for 200?
Also the ram I chose is because it has been tested & works with the motherboard I chose

why only newegg? you waste money that way. it costs 150 more dollars by just getting it at newegg

all ram from good brands work the same on all boards. for intel boards, as long as its 1.5v and 1600mhz or lower, it just works. no difference

I guess just a personal preference, I'm ordering all parts at once, So I'm gonna go with newegg, Is the sandisk 240gb SSD you listed in above build reliable? I want one that will last for awhile.

Ok, I went with a samsung 840 pro 256gb, it has a 30 dollar off promo right now, Build over all is more expensive, But its my first so I'm bound to make mistakes :3

why would you want to make mistakes in the first build? id rather do it right the first time and forget about it later on

there is literally no difference between a 840 pro and a sandisk extreme in daily operations. only in benchmarks

I'm with TheBigTroll: I love Newegg, but the rig I just built had nothing from them. I got a i5 3570K for $179 from Tigerdirect.ca. I used Tigerdirect, and NCIX this time. Last time was all Newegg.

If I were you, I'd get an overclockable CPU such as I5-3570K and decent Z77 mobo over locked cpu, h77 mobo, and an ssd.
Having an ssd is great but within given amount of budget, I'd invest in more on CPU, mobo, GPU, and PSU for better gaming experience.

SSD does load games faster but it does not increase in game fps while you are actually playing but having better cpu, mobo, and gpu will make noticable amount of differences.

I'd go with higher wattages PSU over that 550w gold certified just incase for future crossfire/SLI option down the road.

Memorywise, Samsung makes one of the best performing ddr3 memory sticks at a really affordable cost and is very highly overclockable.

Other peripherals, such as mouse, keyboard, and speakers are really subjective but I'd like to recommened Logitech g500 for a mouse, and mechanical keyboards over basic membranes.

don't listen to him get an ssd. you don't need a bigger psu because i highly doubt you will be using sli with a micro atx board. i would get this. it has a better cpu, mb, gpu and one could argue a better ssd because it uses toggle nand. i don't have any experience with micro cases so im not going to even suggest one. also don't spend $50 on a non mechanical keyboard.

Faster, overclockable CPU
Higher quality motherboard which allows overclocking
Better RAM kit.It's the same speed and latency but works at a lower voltage, making it a lot better.
Faster SSD.
Faster Graphics card.
Better case.
Better power supply.

All in all it's a huge improvement.

Already ordered the parts, I wanted a micro atx desktop, Thanks for the help though! And I believe the non pro versions of the 840's are TLC, not as reliable as the MLC I ordered, 128gb is plenty for me, never used a SSD so I wouldnt notice the speed difference, all in all, I'm happy with what I ordered 😛
