Hi Everyone,

Here's my current setup:
gtx 1060
i7-4790k
8GB ddr3
ASUS z97-a
500GB SSD

I use my PC mostly for gaming and I'm in need of some new components. Here's what I'm pondering. I know for sure I'm going to get a better video card and more RAM. But I'm wondering if you all think it's worth updating my MOBO and CPU so I can get DDR4 instead of DDR3 and to future proof, or if you think those components are good enough for now. If you do think I should consider upgrading, which parts do you prefer? Price isn't a huge issue for me but I don't want to spend a crazy amount (the i9 and Titan are out of the question for example).

Thanks and as always I love the input from this community!

You can't use DDR4 with that motherboard, I'd add in another 8gb of RAM and get a better GPU. Your CPU will easily handle anything up to the 1080 ti and if you have money left over I'd consider a better monitor if needed.

Thanks for the input WildCard!
