Brand new build:

Asus z97 pro motherboard
i7 4790k
evga gtx770
corsair vengence ddr3 8gb 1600
kingston hyper 120gb ssd
segate 2tb hd
corsair hx 750 psu
corsair fan controler
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Cooling Fan

The computer worked on day one. I booted it up and edited the fan settings on the bios (made them slightly more aggressive for better cooling). I restarted and then installed windows. after it was installed i shut the computer off, it seemed to shut down a bit on the fast side, but i thought that i have nothing installed yet so maybe that was why.

Day 2 i came back to turn it on and absolutely nothing at all. Hit the power and the fans budge a tiny bit and nothing.
The power light is on, on the motherboard.

First i checked that indeed the 8 pin power, and 24 pin to the motherboard were in correctly.
I tried unplugging everything except motherboard RAM and cpu and cpu fan, still nothing happened. I also tried with only 1 stick of ram, and no ram. still the fans budge and nothing else happens.
(I also try the power button on the motherboard).

Removed the motherboard from the case, tried to run it again and no good.

I Replace my corsair cx 750 psu with a corsair hx 750 (just to insure it wasn't a bad psu).
still doesn't work.

I then sent in for a new motherboard, replaced it and hooked everything up... same problem.

So i currently waiting for a new i7-4790k to come in to see if maybe that's the problem.

I was just wondering if any of you guys can help me fix this crazy problem!!!! or maybe a push in the right direction!!!

When you say you removed the MB from the case, did you...
1) check that you didn't install one too many standoffs behind the board grounding it out... Possibly killing the board or/and the CPU?
2) try it in breadboard fashion? Put the MB on an insulated surface like the box it arrived in. Connect just the CPU/cooler, 1 stick memory in 1st DIMM slot as required sometimes by the manual for using 1 stick, PSU, KB, and if available; the on-board video to monitor. Start the system by momentarily shorting the 2 pins on the MB FP header that the case's start button wires would plug normally into. You should get a display and be able to boot to BIOS by tapping DEL. If that doesn't happen, check that the outlet it is plugged into is still live.

I did try running the board on a piece of cardboard. It did not work.

The board has 9 holes for mounts. I had it supported by standoffs and screws in the case.
I double checked there were no additional standoffs installed in a location other than the correct 9.
