New build, re-installing Windows 10?

Building an entirely new PC. Upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 when it was free to do so. Free upgrade isn't possible anymore, where do I find the key to activate my Windows on the new machine?

Free upgrades aren't transferable. If you want to try tho tie your windows 10 to your MS account. Then when installing login to the account should activate.

I thought, but don't quote me, that your Windows 8.1 key has now become a Windows 10 key and will only work with Windows 10.
