My new MSI motherboard is an AM5 socket and supports Ryzen 7000 series CPU's. I would like to use one of the new Ryzen 8000 series CPU's. Can I install the newer CPU when released, assuming MSI will release a bios update sometime in the future to fully support the series 8000 cpu's?

Providing the motherboard is high up on MSI's list to receive BIOS updates, it may take a while.

When the CPUs are available, go to MSI's support website and see if there is a new BIOS available (it may also come out prior to the CPU launch) Just something you have to check regularly.

Of the three of that series I am aware of, at least two of them have severely borked integrated graphics and it seems a lot like they may pull a similar situation to what they did with the 'supposed' 7xxx series mobile chips (possibly others) where they are cutting PCI bandwidth, throwing a number they expect people to purchase without really knowing what they are getting. I would wait this one out.
