New build sometimes restarts on its own

My new Pc build sometimes restarts it's self on the windows 10 login screen or shortly after the login process. It does it every now and then, but never when I'm actually in and doing stuff. I wonder if it's the hdd's?

My specs;
I7 6700k
Asus strix 270f
16gb ddr4
GTX 980 4gb


I noticed sometimes I have to go into bios and hit defualt even if I never changed anything in the first place it seems to fix the issue for a while.

What power supply do you have?

A thermal take 850w. I've used it in my previous 2 builds. Never gave me a problem.

Do you have another GPU to test?

I do have a GTX 660. What makes you think the going could be a culprit?

Off the wall question is it a software reboot for windows auto updating? Usually if it is hardware it is more consistent, but not always. Also check your power mode/sleep mode windows 10 I have noticed likes to reset it to minimal power & shut components off.

A damaged GPU can cause the same login issue. Same with a PSU that can't push enough wattage for the GPU.

A damaged HDD can do the same.

Had a similar problem with mine and random reboots. I would try and reinstall Windows 10 (or repair it) for starters.

Nah its not a windows 10 update or software of the kind. Also sometimes it'll boot into bios first.

Does it when it turns into BIOS ask you to change date and time?
If that is the case I would try with changing the CMOS battery.

Nah it doesn't ask me about the time and date. Do you think it's just a bad cmos battery still?

Hmmm maybe it could be that components are somehow reacting on weird way when you put pc to sleep/turn it off.

I don't think Intel ACPI has something to do with this problem OP has.

Yeah it still does it, I wonder what the issue could be. It can't be a voltage issue, my old cpu was a and fx 9590, and that thing was 220w. This problem is getting kind of frustrating.

Memory at SPD settings?

(Drop to one stick in required slot, and retest for stability....; if no change, try the other stick)

Was this Windows installation carried forward from some other previous build, or was it a full fresh install?

it was carried from a previous build. Yeah this only happens on my windows 10 drive.
