I am building my first real gaming build and purchasing everything in about a week. I want to stay on air cooling, and want to stay ridiculously high end. I would just like to know any suggestions, and or comments on my current build plan. My plan is as follows:

Case - COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 - 189.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225

Mobo - ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z - 349.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131760

CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge - 314.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070

CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D14 - 85.87
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018

GPU - 2x MSI N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition GeForce GTX 580 - 599.00 Each
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127589

RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB Low Profile (To fit under CPU cooler) - 104.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233198

PSU - CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 - 279.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139014

HDD - 2x Western Digital VelociRaptor WD6000HLHX in Raid 0 - 249.99 each
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136555

There also other components such as my DVD drive, monitor, keyboard, and mouse ect.

Big things that i would like advice on are the two video cards, mobo, and HDD's.

Note - I have a 3rd video card i am going to use as a dedicated phys x card. This card is a GTX 460.

I would love to hear what sugestions you guys have, I will be here listening and commenting.

Thanks for your help.

-Josh

Skip the velociraptors, those are junk...especially if youre wanting to buy 2! One SSD at $224 (OCZ Vertez 3 120gb) for OS and a regular WD blue for games/storage/pagefile will do ya.
Second, I would lose the i7 if youre doing this soley for gaming, go with i5, there's no real-world difference. Third, I would also skimp to 8GB RAM, unless you're running a crap ton of VM's or something. Now you have a couple hundred $$$ saved to put into more GPU!!

I guess one reason I want the two Velociraptors is because I want OS programs and games all loading fast. An ssd just isnt enough space. two WD VR's will match up very closely to the speed of an SSD. As for the processor, What exactly would be the drawback of using an i5?
