New build switches on and off repeatedly

Hi I just put together a new pc and powered it up... then it switched itself off for a good 4 or 5 seconds before powering back up. After the first several seconds it stays "on" but the power flicks for a fraction of a second every few seconds and it never posts. The power flickers are intermittent. I jumped the PSU on its own and it ran just fine, then I removed everything from the motherboard and removed the MOBO from the case and plugged the 24 pin in and it did the same thing, after turning on it immediately powers off for several seconds then back on to the intermittent flickering. I've never experienced this before, is this a PSU problem? MOBO? PSU is Apevia ATX-AS520W and MOBO is Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H

Apevia ATX-AS520W is more than likely your problem , their power supplies are horrible quality.

k and you connected the ATX12v right?

And did you install the standoffs before you installed the mobo?

I wouldn't use that PSU , order a new one the other isn't worth the risk.

Ok, the PSU has been upgraded to an EVGA BQ 650w and still has the same issue. Is there something I'm missing?

Nevermind! The 12v wasn't seated right! Workin good now
