Okay, so I built a new gaming desktop. The build worked perfect for about 2 weeks and then I noticed a heavy performance drop. I ran memtest 64 and found a bad ram stick. I rma through newegg and got my new ram. I installed it and everything seemed to work.
So here is the issue. When I initially built the rig, the games project cars and arma 3(single player) ran on ultra virtually flawlessly. Now on low settings I can barly get 30 fps on project cars and on arma with everything at medium and all anti aliasing settings disabled I manage about 15 fps.
However I can run the witcher 3 on ultra settings and get perfect gameplay. Which absolutly confuses me.
This is my build:
MSI Z97-Gaming 7 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI GTX 980 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 980 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP
Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54690K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-16GXM
Rosewill Hive-850, Hive Series 850W Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single +12V Rail, Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready, SLI & CrossFire Ready
Windows 7 64 bit.
If anyone could help me figure out whats going on I would be so incredibly grateful.
Sincerely Frustrated
