It looks mostly good, except that motherboard does not seem very reliable. a lot of doa reports. and, that mobo is running a very old chipset. have you considered using a fusion apu? game wise, the a-10 6800k is about as fast as the 6300 when both use the same gpu, and the 6800k has lots of really good micro atx boards, not rehashed phenom II boards.

in addition, you can get fm2+ motherboards, which will support the new steamroller APU coming in january of next year. these will supossedly have about a 15% performance gain over piledriver, closing any performance difference between it and the 6300. and there will definetly be gpu-less cpu models coming. this model also has a pci 3.0 slot, while the am3 board only has pcie 2.0

Thanks alot guys, yea, the mobo didn't seem that good, so ill check out some of the other ones :)

And i might be getting a gigabyte 760 if i get the money for christmas which would be a better gpu.

um TheinsanegamerN, could you say what you said in your reply, but a bit more straight forward? sorry, it was just a bit confusing. which processors are coming out in january? and what should i do to keep the money within a $750-800 budget? im sure theres some things i could de-grade...

Thanks again!

AMD has two lines of processors. the one you are looking at is the FX line. they also have the fusion line, which are cpus with a gpu built in. cpu wise, the highest end quad core fusion and the fx you are looking at perform very similarly when using a dedicated gpu (the gtx 660, in your case)
AMD has a new line of fusion cpus coming out in january. they are based on steamroller cpu cores, while the fx and current fusions are using piledriver cores. steamroller cores are supposedly 15% faster at the same clock rate.
The whole reason i point this out is that, the micro atx boards for fusion APUs use much nicer chipsets with much newer features, while the AM3+ boards are outdated phenom II boards from about 3 years ago. and currently, AMD has no plan to bring out new generations of FX cpus, but there will definitely be new Fusion CPUs. just kinda future proofing.

as for staying within the budget, you could skip on the dedicated GPU, and wait for the next generation of Maxwell gpus from nvidia coming out next year. the Fusion chips have halfway decent gpus built into them, as long as you dont play anything too demanding.

that sounds good, maybe i could put a bit more money into at gpu and not get the special fans... idk any advice there is appreciated!

And thanks alot for simplifying that, it really helped. maybe i will wait for the new chips :)
