Hi

I just finished my new build. Yesterday it was booting fine and the monitor was showing the initial booting logo and menu, just like the manual said.
But i did not had the OS and i needed a sata cable to plug the DVD driver on the motherboard.

So i bought both and, after installing the DVD, i tried turning the PC on.
But now it is not booting anymore. The monitor can't find signal, there is no beep from the mobo and the pc is not turning off anymore: i have to turn off the powe source!

What is the problem? If it was working yesterday, why it is not today?
I did evertyhing carefully, grounded myself etc...

Help?

Hi,
What is the specifications of Your build?

Some mobos has also a Firewire connector on the mobo, which its connector is very similar and can be easily confused to the mobos USB-2 port connector that is going to the front panels USB-2 ports.
Make sure that You have connected everything in correct place, otherwise a damage can occur to the motherboard - if you have a FireWire port that will say.

Check through fully every connector, especially those two from the psu to the motherboard.
Check that the memory modules are seated correctly in their respective memory slots.
Check that the 12V power connectors to the graphics card is properly inserted and the card itself is properly inserted to its PCI-E slot (if you have such a card).

You can remove all SATA devices ie. HDD, SSD and DVD and then start the computer and see how it works, if you cn get into the BIOS Setup. Press Del, F12, F3, F2 F1 or Esc directly upon start. See in the mobos manual which button to press.
Or
Is the screen totally black with no message at all?
Best regards from Sweden
