I have a as rock H61mvitx motherboard and need to install the ssd hard drive and also a std hard drive which ports do I install them in sata0 port0 sata 1 sata 2 or sata 3 does it really matter the info sheet says sata 2 interface allows upto 3.0 go transfer rate is this the best? Thanks in advance

Solution
go for the 3.0 it allows for better data transfer but usually if your mobo says it has dedicated sata ports for ssd its usually the top 2 although they will work in any of them the ones dedicated for ssd's are usually the ones that allow faster data transfer since well ssd's transfer data faster than most hdd's

The disk (I assume it will be the SSD) that will be the bootable drive should be connected to the motherboard's SATA 0 port. The HDD to the SATA 1 port. Presumably your optical drive will be connected to either the SATA 3 or SATA 4 ports.

As an aside...AFAIK your AsRock motherboard supports only the SATA II (3 Gb/sec devices, not SATA III (6Gb/sec). But even so there shouldn't be any real-world negative impact on your SSD.
