i am planning on building a pc myself with a budget of around 1500 euros. I can't decide what cpu i want since i7 8700k is so expensive. is it worth getting a 7700k or an i5 8600k? I would like ro be able to run most games ,like witcher 3, on high settings. Any one got any recomendations. Also is a 144 hz monitor worth it?

Solution
I would go 8600k because it is of a newer platform
A 144Hz monitor is definitely worth it for FPS and games and such.

With OS. Due to stupidly high GPU and RAM prices, a lot of GPU's are out of your budget. The 1070 here is Overpriced as hell.

You might want to consider waiting due to the release of the next GPU line this end of March. Just for more options.
