I ordered it all allready but have read the Sparkle Video cards wouldn't instal on a Windows 7 Ultimate System.
I really need to have it on the desk and running on Tuesday morning at 6AM So I would be very greatful for any input adons take out and replace conflicts you see etc.
Here it is.
I'll be running the following programs simultaniously.
1) SterlingTrader Pro.
2) InstaQuote.
3) MadScan (full version).
4) ThinkorSwim
Internet conection is RoadRunner Lightning (40 MGs)
Also, would a bigfoot nic be of anf real bennifit?

Do you think it is enough of a machine to run all this - in a fast market withou choking?

Thanks for any help and insight of any kind in advance

Thak You all again

I posted another thread because I thought the 1st one didn't post. Sorry
Thanks again.

All looks ok, but I need you to clarify one thing for me. What component did you order to connect the monitors to your machine? A Bigfoot NIC "might" help, but that would only be with market orders / forex. If you have the $$$ to burn, then go for it IMO. That SSD size (60gb) will definitely give you issues unless you trim off tons of stuff, especially hibernation and pagefile.

Thanks for your quick reply,
Have U any experiance with day trading machines.
The reason I ask is that through 1st hand experiance I have run 40 GIG. HDD (spinners) and have never come close to being 30% disk usage.
All those experiances have all been with XP machines.
Will Win7 64 Pro be different from an old fashion HDD/ , and will it be Different W/ a SSD and the 500gig backup. In compairison to the XP box.
All info is really pretty much passthrough except for the cache...
So I ask because I don't know is there a fundimental difference in the operation and what am I unaware of ie. the difference between the 2, HDD vr. sdd.
Also does the 500 GIG spinner make a difference in your 1st thoughts.
last Q and A I can think of right now is I read the vid cards where not installing on a Win7 ultimate OS machine when other cards would. These cards being proven to work by installing in a machine with different OS. They didnt say which OS.
Bottomline Q and A concerning the ssd size
If the size of the disk was not an issue on the XP box is there a need for additional space with the 2 variables, ie. the OS taking up more space and the the OS being win 7 64 Pro and any

PS.
I am a terrible typest speller etc. so if U want to call I am at 407.733.0061
Can't thank you enough for you help.

The SSD will help you load up your trading platforms in an instant, which I know is important to you. To answer your SSD vs. HDD space question is yes. Win7 x64 is much larger than Win XP and the SSD needs more available free space to perform it's "garbage collection". We are still at the infancy of SSDs. I remember when it cost $1.50 per GB on a HDD lol. Same for SSD right now, but it really is worth it to get a 120GB SSD. Crucial M4 for cost effectiveness, Intel 320 series for best reliability are my recommendations to you. The Intel 320 is slower, but it's marginal when comparing SSD vs. SSD in real-world testing, not benchmarks. We're talking 2-10 seconds here.

Sorry, but I still don't know what component you're using to connect the 4 monitors, can you paste a link please? Thanks.

Sorry I did not include the answer to the 1st question.
I thought I included the video card.
Using 2)
SPARKLE SX84GS1024S3LNM GeForce 8400 GS 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card
Thanks Again Scott

Ok, those will do. Just be sure to get the latest driver for Win7 x64 here;
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-280.26-whql-driver.html
The "supported products" tab clearly states it supports the 8400 GS. So those newegg people are idiots.

Also, those people complaining on NewEgg about the card failing after a short period of time are probably idiots too, not realizing that its practically passively cooled (just look at the heat sink design) and needs to have a fan blowing on it so it doesn't overheat. Just make sure your case has a side fan installed and you're good to go.

EDIT: Consider getting a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). If you have a power outage, you can still be up and running and finish that last order you're working on.

Thank You Steel,
This is a great site where people just help each other out.
U have my email etc. If ever I a help you with somting let me know.

You can get accounts in the UK if you really want to get around that. Thanks for your offers well :)

Scott it is not a good idea give out your phone number and first name on public forums. There are a lot of spammers, and individuals who will utilize that information. This could potentially cause some headaches and privacy issues

A dead end email address is a much better idea. Dead end meaning a email address solely created for one purpose.

Just giving you a heads up. not trying to sound lecturey (clearly not a word).

Good luck with your trading, and your system.
