I've just assembled my new build and am having an issue clean installing windows 10 via usb. I've gotten the "uncorrectable error" during installation. I'm thinking that my motherboard is the issue. It's a Asrock H97M pro 4. I just realized that it's windows 8.1 ready but not windows 10 without a bios update. I saw on another forum where someone was having a similar problem and tried to update the bios via downloading on another computer and placing it on a flash drive (which is the only option for me since I don't have a disk drive), but some people said that this could "brick" his motherboard since he already tried the Win 10 installation. I don't want to cause any irreversible damage and greatly appreciate any and all help.

Solution
Any BIOS update can brick a motherboard . If the board allows you to update from a USB stick without windows it will be as safe that way as any other .
