Dear All,
I'm building a new rig and before spending a lot of money on it I'd like to double check that I don't make any rookie mistakes. I'd much appreciate your expert advise on the specs below.

Primary use: Gaming (1440p IPS)
Secondary use: heavy workload Python simulations (unfortunately, multi-threading isn't an option)

Budget: I'm at the very end of it so pls do not suggest upgrades unless you believe that'd be of utmost importance. As far as I see, there is no CPU throttling or any major issues with this "composition" but perhaps it might be better to use another motherboard, higher capacity PSU, other brand of certain parts etc.

House: SHARKOON TG6 RGB, Glasfenster
PSU: BE QUIET! Straight Power 11 Platinum 750W

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B560-A GAMING WIFI
CPU: INTEL Core i5-11600K, 6C/12T, 3.90-4.90GHz
CPU-cooler: NOCTUA NH-D14 CPU-Kühler - 140/120mm

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX schwarz DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3200,
M.2 SSD: KINGSTON SSD A2000 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL WD Blue 4TB, SATA 6Gb/s

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 10G

Thank you very much in advance for your suggestions!
Best regards,
Borni

Question since GPU pricing and availability is HORRIBLE: Do you already own the 3080 or could you "get by" with a 3070/3070Ti?

Seems like the Kingstone A2000 is abnormally.....low-end for this build.
The Noctua NH-U14S is probably still overkill for a 11600K and would save money.
B560 won't be able to overclock the CPU if that's something you want the K-series CPU for.
Is the RAM 2x16GB?

Thank you! I've already learned that I should pick another motherboard. Changing the ssd shouldn't be a problem either. Yes, RAM=2*16GB 3200.

Thank you all!! I didn't expect to receive so many helpful responses in an hour, this page and its community are amazing! I must sleep a bit but will be back tomorrow to finalize the specs. I'll post the more or less finalized specs for a quick check by you, if you don't mind:) Thanks a lot again for your help!

Dear All!
I did my homework, read almost everything you sent, many comparisons, and tests, and I changed a couple of things accordingly (motherboard+wlan, cpu-cooler and M.2 ssd). Also I picked another GPU (still 3080) mainly because the rig specified below can be bought assembled (with OS and warranty from e-tec). I'd feel much better if I didn't have to build such a beast:)

Thank you very much in advance for any further comments or suggestions!

Is there a significant price difference between the 11600K and the 12400 or 12600K? I only ask because in the UK there isn't.
Unfortunately, in the online PC-configuration of this company only CPUs of socket size 1200 are available. Also, at the simulations I do multi-threading isn't an option hence the single core speed (probably overclocked) is the most important. The 12600K and the 11600K have the same single core speed as far as I saw.

Thank you but unfortunately I'm at the very end of my budget. I saw some comparisons between the gaming performances of the 11600k, 11700k, and the 12700 and to be honest a few FPS isn't worth paying additional 100 Euro. Also, as far as I understood, the MSI Z590-A PRO is a very decent choice for this build and some peaceful overclocking. Thank you again!

Ah I see, there is a reasonable difference between the two in single threaded performance. My thought actually was about gaming, over the long term a more powerful processor could be beneficial with a 3080. However I understand you have to draw the line somewhere.
