Hi everyone!
I am in the midst of making a build and I am curious if everything should work together smoothly. I am using it for gaming, and for graphic design on the side. For future-proofing, do you think this is a viable build? My current PC I built was in 2011. And the monitor is from 2007. Do you think it's worth waiting to see what the new CPU's will be like when they get released this year? I will be getting a new GPU this year as well.
The following are from my old build that I plan on keeping:
Case:
Silverstone Fortress FT02S ATX Silver Aluminum Unibody Case 4X5.25 5X3.5INT
Power Supply:
Corsair Professional HX750W 750W ATX 12V 62A 24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 140MM Fan
DVD Drive/Writer:
ASUS DRW-24B1ST 24X SATA DVD Writer OEM Black
CPU Cooler / Heatsink:
Noctua NH-D14 Six Heatpipe Dual Radiator CPU Cooler for Intel Socket LGA1366/1156/775 & AMD Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3
GPU / Video Card:
MSI GeForce GTX 680 1006MHZ 2GB 6GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI DisplayPort HDMI PCI-E 3.0 Video Card
The following are from my new build:
Motherboard:
GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ULTRA AMD Ryzen 3000 PCIe 4.0 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.2 AMD X570 ATX Motherboard
CPU:
AMD RYZEN 7 3700X 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.4 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W 100-100000071BOX Desktop Processor
SSD Drive 1:
SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 250GB PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3 V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V7S250B/AM
SSD Drives 2 & 3:
SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS 500GB Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V7S500B/AM
RAM:
G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) AMD X370 / B350 Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-3200C14D-16GFX
So do you think these will all fit together nicely with no problems? I know the GPU will probably be a bottleneck for the CPU. But I wonder how noticeable it would be? Also, my monitor. I am running a DVI cable right now, but I should be fine if I switch to HDMI, correct? It's from 2007 I believe.
EDIT: Oh, and I will probably not overclock. But I might. We'll see.
Thanks for all the help everyone!
