Hi Everyone,
A (mostly) new build here. New CPU/mobo/RAM. Old video card, case, PSU.

i5-7600K
Gigabyte GA-H110M-A
Crucial 2x8GB DDR4 2133

The problem is seemingly quite simple. When I power on, the fans come on for about 5 seconds, but there are no beeps and no other signs of life.

Following some of the other posts that I've seen here, I removed the RAM. In this setting, I do get about 4 1/2 long beeps. I've interpreted this as continuous long beeps, indicating the expected memory issue.

FWIW, the CPU and mobo box arrived from Amazon visibly badly damaged, though a visual inspection of the components indicated no issues.

Appreciate any help, thank you! I've looked over the recommended checklists as well, with no success. I've also attempted this out of the case, in a breadboard type setup.

Update: I forgot to add, the system power cycles itself after about 5 seconds of being on-both with and without RAM.

What makes you say this? This may be the biggest answer in history. There are so many posts about this with kaby lake processors. You are probably right
