Hi Team,

I am doing my first Mini ITX build using an Asrock A520M-ITX/ac and all components from the approved list. There is no graphics card, this is my first build with a APU instead of a CPU... Ryzen 5600G

What is happening is when I push the on button... nothing happens.

However when I pull the power cable going to the CPU plug and I press the on button... the on button lights up and the fan starts.

Now I suspected the PSU, however I used a multimeter and checked the pins on the CPU cable... they are producing the 12v needed.

I have checked the thread on this site which offers troubleshooting advice and I am good on most points. However there are a couple I am concerned with...

This is my first build ever using just one stick of RAM, the mobo manual wasn't specific as to where to put just one stick... does it matter?

The only thing I haven't done is some kind of CMOS or BIOS reset... would that help in this situation or is the problem something else?

Thanks,
Matt.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Asrock A520M-ITX/ac
+
Ryzen 5600G
You might want to look for a sticker on your motherboard which should start with a P, i.e, if your motherboard was shipped with BIOS version P1.60, you should see a sticker on the board or the motherboard box with the same moniker.

CPU: Ryzen 5600G
CPU cooler: Thermalright AXP90 X47
Motherboard: Asrock A520M-ITX/ac
Ram: Kingston KVR32N22D8/32
SSD/HDD: Corsair MP600 Elite 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD
GPU: n/a
PSU: Xindongli 400HDL 400w Modular Flex ITX
Chassis: A09 HTPC
OS: Will be Windows 11
Monitor: Multiple tried

Everything brand new

I don't see any stickers on the board with bios information and the sticker on the box doesn't mention it either.
