I am having trouble with a new build.

The key parts of the set up are:-
MB is a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming7
Intel i7 -4790 processor
Corsair RM750 power supply
Corsair Force Lx SSD
Getforce GTX970 GPU
G.Skill RipjawX DDR3-2400 8GB x 2

When I booted up the full configuration for the first time I got an on-board BIOS error message. A6 - Detect and Install all currently installed SCSI devices. (There was no screen display.)

Eventually I disconnected the drives (including the DVD,) took out the GPU etc, mouse, keyboard etc. Just the bare bones system with the CPU and back fan running plus one memory module. It was also out of the case.

Same (four letter words) problem! Error A6. :fou:

Any suggestions please?

Thanks for the response. Given the graphics limitation of the mb display, its possible it could be Ab. However, (after posting this response I just checked the Destruction Manual. According to it, it must be A6 because AB would have a capital B.

I have only tried the monitor in the mb HDMI outlet. If the GPU is not in the system, shouldn't the screen be visible? That was my last attempt, but still no screen. (I have just tried reinserting the GPU and plugged the screen into that port. Same result!)

I should have also mentioned there is one beep when its starting up.

As stated in my edited post (you responded whilst I was doing the edit) it must be A6 as if it was AB, the B would be a capital letter, not lowercase.

I have tried two different USB keyboards and a USB mouse.

I Googled A6 prior to posting this problem and could not find anything that would help.

Once again thanks for the suggestion.

After many, many hours of reading Google answers and mucking around, I have finally solved it.

The problem turned out to be, for some obscure and unknown reason, that the new mb did not recognise my Dell 23" (standard plug and play) monitor, but as soon as I plugged in my 29" Samsung, it showed that it had started the BIOS and was waiting for a response.

Yeha, the link I pasted said it was a display-issue, BIOS prompting for user input :)
