New Build Wont Boot

Just got done putting together a new computer and it won't boot. No post codes, no beeps, nothing. The G skills rgb lights up when osu is on, and my Kraken blinks on for about half a second when I press the power. When I power on the psu the motherboard flashes all it's lights. Fans haven't moved at all and I get nothing on either monitor at any point.

I've tried using a different gpu and cpu cable (8pin).
Tried different slots on my psu.
Reseated everything, literally everything.
Tried with and without my gpu.
With 1 monitor and 2, on and off the gpu.
Changed ram to different slots and tried each individually.
Read the entire motherboard guide.
Verified everything was installed/screwed in properly.

Vega 56
Xfx 1050w fully modular
S340 elite


Edit: If I hold the power button down for an extended period of time I get the same flash from my Kraken and a quick red flash on my mobo where I'd hope for a code.

Already ran through all of them. Checked that list a couple times to make sure I did everything.

Is either the pump or at least 1 or your CPU cooler fans plugged into the CPU fan header on the motherboard?

Yeah, I have the Kraken plugged into the cpu fan slot, but nothing in the optional.

If your RAM is fully seated I'd double and triple check to see if your CPU power and main 24 pin MOBO power cables are fully seated and locked.

Yeah, I've checked the mobo and cpu power cords at least a dozen times. I just found a cpu cable from an old psu to try, going to see if I can't find another mobo one.

Honestly if you have an old PSU with enough voltage I'd hook that up and see if it'll boot. That'll rule out the PSU. If it doesn't take out the Vega 56 and then try it. That card is pretty power hungry.

It's in my old computer that I'm still using, just didn't want to fight it out to test it. I may have to though.

Not sure how old your old PC is but seems like you've run through most of the likely causes and it could very well be hardware. I'd use that old PC as a test rig for any compatible parts. I know how you feel. I'm doing this on my cell phone because I've torn down my whole rig for a good dusting.

Old system uses i7 4790k and ddr3, so the psu is the only compatible part lol. This is what I get for trying something other than an asus motherboard. I've never had an issue with a build before.

Electronics are all a lottery to me. Gigabyte has been pretty good for me. I've had 3 good boards from them. In my current build I have an MSI.

Same thing with my other power supply. Get a quick flash of all of the rgb stuff on the motherboard when I power on the psu and a quick blink on the Kraken and code when I hit the power. Then my ram turns on and gets all rainbows and unicorns since it's the only thing on.

Tried plugging into cpu optional fan slot just to try, and unplugged the case fans from the same cable as the Kraken.

Feel like I have a dud mobo or cpu...

This may or may not matter, but the manual says it's doesn't support 3200 ram, but it also says to reference the website for a full up to date list, which my ram IS on...

Your RAM will run at 2133MHz until you manually change it in the BIOS. It very well could be a dead board. Strip it down to nothing but the CPU, CPU cooler, and 1 stick of RAM. Use a screw driver to short the 2 power pins. strip everything thing include the HD off the MOBO. See if you get a boot then. Double check for bent pins on the CPU socket as well. Nothing to lose at this point in the process.

Same thing as when I try to boot normally. Blinks and goes out.

Were there any bent pins on the CPU socket? Take a close careful look at them. Even 1 pin not properly making contact can cause this. If there's no bent pin I think we're at the end of the troubleshooting road and you may have to RMA the board.

I think the issue is the the Kraken. New mobo and cpu and same issue.

Did the 8600 come with an intel stock cooler? if so try using that and see what it does. If not plug a case fan into the CPU fan header and see if it starts. If it does shut it down quickly so no over heats happen.

Interesting. Well on the upside you don't need a new Mobo. On the down side if you're getting liquid cooling again it'll cost about the same as a new mobo.

The Kraken was new so I'll just return it for a new one.
