New build won't boot

Hey guys, I just put together my first new build. Powered up for the first time and I get fan and lights but no beeps and nothing in the monitor. I'm hoping for some troubleshooting suggestions.

Mobo - Asus rog strix Z370-E
Cpu - i7 8700k
Graphics - asus gtx 1080
SDD - Samsung 960 evo Nvme
G skill ripjaw V ddr4 ram, 16GB

One mistake I made is I forgot to plug in the 2nd 8 pin power supply line before I powered it on for the first time.

Another possible issue, I don't have the correct video cable to power on without the graphics card using the onboard graphics. I'm thinking about pulling the graphics card just to see if I get any beeps.

The 4 troubleshooting LEDs on the mobo light briefly then go off. I believe if they go off there is no error detected but I'm not sure exactly.

Anyway that's about it. Please post up if you have any thoughts.

Small update,
I used the mobo jumpers to clear the rtc ram, then also tried it with the battery pulled out.

Now when I power up, still no beeps but the boot-device LED stays lit.

Just making sure I understand, you cannot get into the BIOS or POST screen. Does your graphics card have all the power connectors plugged in? If using onboard graphics, are you using DVI/HDMI to a DVI/HDMI monitor?

before you pull the gpu put the video cable on the onboard mb video ports. a lot of the newer mb set the ipgpu as default bios now.

Well I got it going. First mistake, no system speaker installed so no beeps, second mistake, the input setting on my monitor. I know, idiot! windows install in progress. Thanks for responding guys!
