Question New build won't display on monitor

TL;DR: Built a new computer and nothing shows on the screen on boot. I don't have compatible extra parts to narrow down the issue.

Issue: I built a computer from new components to replace my 10 year old setup. This is the second build I have done, but it's been a while so I refreshed myself by watching some videos from Linus and Jayztwocents. Following the videos and manuals provided, I put the system together and tried to start it. The lights on the mobo light up, the fans on the cpu cooler are spinning, etc. However the screen remains blank. I tried clearing the CMOS and then starting up again. Nothing. I turned of the psu and unplugged for several seconds, then plugged back in, turned on and it actually showed the boot up on the screen for a second, but wouldn't take any input from my keyboard. It shut itself off after that. I have only been able to get to that screen one more time, and again it wasn't taking input. I know the keyboard and mouse both work.

What I've Tried: Rechecked to make sure all components and cables were connected and fully seated; undid the CPU and checked the pins then reinstalled; tried memory in different slots; removed the gpu to use only the integrated graphics; tried a different monitor.

I don't have spare components that are compatible with my new setup, as all I have is my old rig (which is centered around a GTX 770 and an i7-4770k). Is there anything I can do with what I have to try and test it further to narrow down what it could be, or should I assume that it is a problem with the motherboard and try and get a replacement?
