Okay...my first build so please be gentle....Components I am "breadboarding" out of case are:

MSI H81M-P33 Motherboard
Intel core i5 processor/fan
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb memory
EVGA 500W Bronze Power Supply
(also a Powercolor PCS graphics card to be installed once I get past this issue)

All components are compatible according to a variety of sources including MOBO manufacturers site, NewEgg, and other build sites.

What is happening: with CPU/fan + Power to the MOBO I am able to get a Post/3Beep Code on start....sounds good...as there is not memory installed...lol.

When I install the memory stick....and put power to the MOBO...I get not beep...cpu fan spins...but no beeps..

I have 4 new memory sticks...(the board is dual channel) I have tried all variations on the stick/slot combinations...with both 1 & 2 sticks installed....no beep.

I have unseated and reseated the CPU...I get 3 beep code without memory installed....no beep with memory installed...

I have ordered a second MOBO (same one)....done the same testing...same results.....

I have taken the Battery off the board to "reset" the BiOS....no change...........

As am new to this...you can imagine it is frustrating situation.....ANY IDEAS WOULD HELPFUL and APPRECIATED!

Solution
Well, you've done some good troubleshooting already. The troubleshooting checklist in my signature will give you a few more things to try. If you perform all the steps in the checklist it should help you narrow down what's causing the problem.
The POST beep which is Power On System Test has a process that the bios must complete before giving a beep code. There are four things that the bios checks to see if they are installed;

CPU
Ram
Memory
Hard Drive

If you connect a hard drive to a sata port you will get a post beep.

Hello shortstuff_mt thanks for the quick response...I have gone through your list...and the only thing that I could re try was to look again at the cpu to check for bent pins...I unseated and looked at the pins with a big magnifying glass...nothing is out of order....two questions came to mind:
1.)...if the Memory is bad/incompatible...shouldn't I get the same 3 beepcode...indicating that...even though there is a stick in the slot...no memory is detected?
2.) If the memory is good....should I be getting a single post beep/any beeps with just the cpu/fan, memory & power?...

lastly...I have a 500w decent powersource....how and why might that be an issue?

Thanks.

They are:

Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLS8G3D169DS3

So...just clarifying...again because this is my first time attempting this....I was following some videos on youtube...that had an outside the case build test...had MOBO, CPU, RAM, Graphics card, and a monitor....plus powersupply....and they got a postbeep & something to the monitor (no operating system message)...??

but I can connect the HD via a Sata connector and try to poweron/post....will let you know what happens....

Okay...so now I have done all of this....connected Hard Drive (SATA) Western Digital Caviar Blue....and Graphics card...put power to the board....without memory....everything kicks on (all fans etc.)...and 3 beep code....add memory ...power to the board....everything kicks on (all fans etc.)...no beeps......none..nada..aahhh.. (I also removed battery for 30min. to "reset" Bios again while setting up.
