I just finished my new gaming build and everything seemed fine but it won't start anymore. The reason why I say anymore is because when I finished it, it started up fine and I was able to enter bios (didn't install windows os yet) but now it won't turn on anymore.

Here are my specs
Cpu: Amd fx-6300
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+
R.A.M: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Case: Rosewill Challenger-U3 ATX Mid Tower
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon HD 7870 Ghz edition
Optical Drive Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W

Any help would be great this is my first build and I don't know too much about this kind of thing.

The only thing that I did it after it was working was put it on the floor (carpet) but does that do anything?
Also while I was pressing the power button on my case for it to turn on I decided to turn the psu on and off and when i switched it back on everything turned on for a second then everything was off again.

I'm not sure if this is in the right section or if I asked this right as this is my first post here so please excuse my errors.

You might have just fried your motherboard by releasing static electricity onto it, or from the switching the power supply on/off while holding the power button (that releases electric charge to the mobo when it's on)
