New build, your thoughts?

This build will be used for editing photos, videos, and recording in 1440p and/or 4k
Going to buy all the parts in the list, and use the AiO as a temporary cooler, then save up some more and build a custom water loop in about 2 months. I'm also thinking about switching the motherboard for a E-ATX motherboard, and the case for a Caselabs built case. But we shall see.

Also will i have to use a 5930k for the SLI if i add in a 3rd 980?

Why use 980 Sli when you can go down to the 970 sli use the same FTW edition. Are you playing in 4k resolution?

Yes i will be playing in 4k. This is basically my "dream" build that i finally saved enough money for.

Single 4k monitor or multi 4k monitor?

Havent decided yet. If i go multi itll be 1440p. If i go 4k itll be a ultra wide 144hz i presume. Maybe a asus rog pg34bq

My main concern is if i add a 3rd card will i have to get the 5930k for the 40 lanes or not basically. Everything else is straight forward

Just go with the 5930k according to PCCartPicker CPU's with 28 lanes will not support 3 way sli on x99 boards. As I further read into your specific board keep seeing the 5820k will not support it either.

Edit:Sorry it will support it BUT it turns the PCIE_2 to x8 and PCIE_3 to 4x
