Dear friend, kindly ask for your advice...

Last time build the pc in 2003, many things changed since than.

Shortly ago bought msi z370i micro ATX, 3000 Mhz TridentZ ram 2 x 8, SSD evo 960 and 700 W bronze PSU and build all in open case.

At later stage, yesterday bought i7 8700 and RTX 2070 from Zotac.

Assemble everithing, boot up, no signal from video card. Ram RGB lit, CPU cooler spins, all motherboard LEDs are red. GPU cooler blows like crazy.

At later stage find out that CPU fan was connected to system fan slot not cpu fan. Changed - same, no booting.

GPU coolers spins even withowt additional power.

Was checking everithing through the night, trying different RAM combination, boot with and without GPU - no success. End up with bended CPU contacts...

Tomorow planning to purchase new Mobo.

Please, tell me, what is the reason for such failure and is it my GPU and CPU possibly dead as wel???????????

Many Thanks in advance

Thanks for reply. Cpu is cool, no power at all. As well as on chipset. Anyway now I manage to damage cpu connectors and not going to use this momo. I'll try to buy another z370 motherboard.

The question which is not letting me sleep is the status of CPU and Video card... A hell of a money.....

What about RAM also no idea, the rgb is lit, TridentZ plates looks solid, but may be they was damaged as well... Oh... Hope I'll survive till new motherboard will be in my hands to try.

If you damaged pins on the motherboard, you might have damaged the CPU. There is no way to determine other than a new motherboard. Start the next time simple. CPU, 1 stick RAM and power supply. Connect the monitor to the motherboard. Verify that works.

Thanks for the tips. Really worry alot. All due to hurry and neglect, i know... The problem I a m seaman, peresently on the ship. First shopping in malta, cpu and gpu in Italy, now another motherboard will try to pick up in Barcelona.

Any recomendation on motherboard brand? As I mention Zotac rtx 2070 and 8700. 3000Mhz TridentZ ram.

Regarding GPU, it run full rpm without posting, even with unpuged power pin during my attempts... Somewone sad its normal because no signal from cpu and pre programmed gpu try to save itself

It is unlikely that it was damaged. Since the CPU never initialized the graphics card probably went to a default "protection" state to ensure it didn't overheat.

Thanks!
As for processor I understood 50/50.... Will see. How about RAM and SSD, also can be affected in case of short circuit on the board? Still it is unclear what was the reason... May be because I was building on my own standing vertically open basement and couple times a day screw it in and out. Motherboard I mean. Maybe damage somehow zomething... Stand is whole on my own project so some gaps and few milimiter difference in levels of each corner is very likely...
