new card for old motherboard

any great graphics cards for the price thats compatible with Asus P5e-vm HDMI motherboard with a Xeon X5450 771 to 775 mod.? can i use new cards? or best old graphics card.?

I would stick to 2 gen old cards for that platform, nVidia 750 or 740 should be OK.

Agree.. gtx750 if power limited, or 670, 760, etc if not.
