Ran a series of benchmark's with the Cinebench R20 on my i9 9900K. I performed tests at stock clock speed, 5.0GHz & 5.1GHz. Please feel free share your results or comment or ask any questions.

So I know the 9900k is an awesome cpu, but only outscoring the 7700k by 25-35 points seems a little less than impressive. Once I get my loop rebuilt and the rig back up and running I'll be interested to see the single core score of my 6600k vs the 9900k. I know the multi core score won't impress. Seems to show how maxed out this 14nm process is.

Here are the screenshots from the multi core rankings. Of course i suspect the 7700K scores to be at stock clock speed. So yeah i agree the single core speed while better but nothing to write home about.

The multi core score however, (which it should) blows the 7700K out of the water right out of the box.

new to the forum and thought I would post my results from tweaking just for fun. I normally operate at 5ghz, but have a few different load outs.
This is 5.1 @ 1.31 & 5.3 @ 1.4v.
cheers

I had so much pain OC my 9900KF since I couldn't find anything useful online as to the scores, voltages, and other settings.

So here's my stable OC after a month of using it and about 2 full days of tweaking the settings.

I'm currently at 5.1Ghz @ 1.33v, the temperature is high because I'm using CoolerMaster's Maker 8 air cooler.

It's nice and quiet since I won't be burning my CPU 24x7.

It did hit temperature throttling in the end for maybe 5 seconds. But really, I'm fine with that.

If you are looking for a cooler temp or constantly burning your CPU, I had Corsair H150i in mind but couldn't be bothered to replace the whole thing.

You seem to be missing the point a bit, the 9900k is only slightly faster than the 7700k on a single core but the 9900k has twice as many cores, so it's more than twice as fast as 7700 on cinebench r20. No one is ever going to pay nearly £500 for a CPU then run it on a single core are they? It's like someone with a 200 BHP 4 cylinder car trying to argue with someone who has a 440 BHP V8 that the 4 banger is better because it has only slightly less BHP per cylinder, it's not a meaningful analogy.
