Ok, I did some more research and I've come up with an updated list, let me know what you all think.

Case- ENERMAX Black Aluminum ATX Mid-Tower Case, Model "CS-517AL-B" - $45
Mobo-ASUS "K8N" NVIDIA nForce3 Chipset-$84.50
Vid Card- XFX nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT Video Card-$197
PSU-Thermaltake W0014 Silent Purepower 480W-$57
CPU-AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 512k L2 Cache- $190
RAM-Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 512MBx2-$130
Hard Drive-Seagate 160GB Barracuda 7200.7 7200RPM SATA-$108
Keyboard- Logitech Elite Keyboard - $25
Monitor-ViewSonic E90FB 19" PerfectFlat CRT-$204
Optical Drive-NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive-$60

Total- $1,099.97

Case only comes with 2 fans, but I might add a couple more. Vid Card is AGP 8x for anyone curious. 3 questions remain. Anyone know a good quality 19" CRT I can get for less than $204? I would really hate to go down to a 17". Then again, my laptop right now is only 15", so the 17" CRTs would actually give me an increase of 1" viewing area. Second, would I be better off saving $35 and getting the athlon 3000+, or is the 3200+ enough of a boost over the 3000 for $35 more? Lastly, is my mobo decent with the 800 mhz FSB or would I be better off going with the ASUS "K8V SE Deluxe" with HyperTransport with more room for SATA hard drives?
Edited by joeshmo1985 on 02/23/05 10:32 PM.

I have one of each of the 3000 and 3200 on s754. I would say the 3200 should be at least called a 3300, or 3350. It is more than 10% faster than the 3000. I think it's well worth the extra few $.
I'd go with the epox 9nda3J ($95 newegg) with a socket 939 athlon 64 3000 ($148-155 retail boxed) for overclocking. I would also look into a 17 inch LCD. Newegg has both Benq and Samsung beige models on sale with rebates.
