New comp install

Hey, I just recently purchased a new computer. I'm trying to install my
Winxp I used in my old computer on my new one. I have installed it on my new comp but now it's giving me a message "hadware since install has significantly changed, please re-activate in 2 days". When I type in the key for Winxp, it says I have used this key to many times.

Is there anything I can do so that I can use this key on my new comp? My old HD is pretty much out of service.

Edit: The Winxp cd I have isn't an oem, it's a full genuine copy bought from windows.

You'll likely have to call Microsoft to reactivate it. Had to recently do it. Suggest you read the licensing agreement before you call so you're sure of giving the correct answers

tell them you need to speak with the product activation team, they'll do it via phone or something if it's been activated too many times already, if you've re-installed a lot

make sure they don't charge you for it $)
