total Cost: $866.90 or $841.99 if i use xeon x3440.

I heard of the xeon x3400 as well I was wondering how good this processor is for gaming compared to the core i7 860. The x3400 is about 25 dollars cheaper than the i7 860.

Also as far as the HEC PSU goes how is the quality if it's not good can anyone recommend me one for a cheap price.

Thanks everyone!

The i7-860 looks great.

If you have an extra 10 bucks you might want too look at the 300 illusion though instead of the 300. It comes with a couple of extra fans. Either way you will have a very good computer once it is all said and done.

Hey I just have a couple questions about these parts. Seems to be a bit cheaper with this combo.

Is this worth the little extra money with a different MOBO but better PSU.

Its not bad but no USB 3.0 or Sata 6 on that mobo.

Also you did not list an optical drive in the last build. But since you are looking at getting the Hyper 212+ get the combo for 45 dollars that incluse an optical.

If you are trying to "Future Proof" (And I hate that phrase when talking about compters), I would suggest finding one with USB3 and Sata 6 wont cost much more then the original mobo. How important it will be in the near future who know but at least it would be something you wont have to look back on later and regret.

If you are happy with out it then it should be alright. MSI makes good mobos but I prefer Asus and Gigabyte.

Hey guys I just have a little bit of a problem when I use the front panel connectors for some reason I can't get my system to turn on I guess I mixed up the connections or something. The manual is very confusing does anyone have any experience with MSI boards and know where to put them in. Also when I was putting in my optical drive I accidentally knocked my mobo slightly and knocked a little piece it looked like a round circular object not sure exactly what it is but I see alot of them on my mobo. I hope this didn't cause the mobo to be damaged.

I'm able to turn my system on when i manually hit the power button on my mobo. And when I try installing my OS (windows 7 64bit) it is taking a very long time to go through the setup. IDK if it has to do with my old optical drive or not but I ordered a new one.
