I dropped the z97 mobo cause you cant overclock with that CPU, unless your friend wants to overclock, of course. I picked cheaper RAM and low profile cause the Hyper 212 Evo will surely block the Ballistix XT. For the SSD, I chose a much better Sandisk unit, one of the best and for the HDD, I chose a Hitachi cause Seagate tends to have higher failure rates after 1TB.

I picked a better 980 ti, at the same price, but can be overclocked and has 3 fans, which is a plus.

I chose a better PSU, that Corsair is crap, the EVGA G2 series are much better. The 650W are plenty but if you dont feel comfortable, just opt for the 750 G2.

The fans would really be a stupid choice, 60 mm fans do nothing. 19.2 CFM is nothing and they would make more noise than the 120mm Noctua fans I picked.

You would have a monster build which would eat any game at 1080p or 1440p.

Edit:If you want to overclock, go for the z97 mobo you picked and choose the 750 G2 PSU from EVGA.
