New Computer Freezes During Benchmark

Hey Guys ,
i have recently built a brand new computer for myself , and i've been testing things and i've noticed two odd behaviours , (First of all it's worthy to note that I did not overclock this pc or touched any of the regular BIOS settings , it's all factory default mode)
The first odd thing is my temperatures rising from 40C to 70C and dropping from 70C back to 40C within just a few seconds.
The second thing is that while I was trying to Stress Test my computer using RealBench v2.43 , some programs stopped responding and my pc froze a bunch of times.
Intel Boost is default turned on so they do overclock it for me , but for some reason i have a feeling the temperature readings i get are not right either so i'm kind of lost here don't know whats the cause of the problem , i thought i'd re-apply the water block on my cpu with new thermal paste maybe i didn't do it right before?

My Specs are :
Core i7 7700K
Asus ROG STRIX 1070 GTX
MSI Z270 M3 Motherboard
16GB Hyper X Savage CL12
Corsair H100i V2
5 Magnetic Levitation fans (3x 120mm , 2x 140mm)
Corsair 400C Carbide
500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
RM750x 80+ Gold

Hoping to hear from you guys , Thanks a lot to whoever tries to help in advance!

You could try updating your drivers but may be best to do a complete windows reinstall. Then get the newest drivers. Get driver booster from the popular downloads list to help find which needs updated.

Hey elbert , the voltage is adaptive mode , it changes a lot since i didnt set anything on my own , it usually moves between 1.25 to 1.3 so it's okay
The benchmark software that made my PC not respond at times and just freeze a bunch was Realbench 2.34
BTW I ran that version u sent me of prime95 and it seems to not do anything like freezes or crashes to my pc

The worst that should happen with the latest version of Prime95 is throttling; the system shouldn't freeze. If it does, then something is wrong. Same with RealBench v2.43; the system shouldn't freeze. If it was too aggressive, then Asus wouldn't make it available.

I ran FURMARK for a bit and it didn't freeze at all so far.. it passed the benchmark plus i tried to stress test it for a bit and it still didn't freeze. it's when my CPU usage goes up to 100% in cpu benchmarks that the pc freezes.

I ran the newest version of Prime95 for a few minutes and my cpu was running around 90C but as soon as i clicked stop the test BOOM it went right back into 40C in no time.. how does this make sense..

You may have to set corsair link to performance when you stress test the cpu. As far as the temps go when you put that much stress on the cpu the temp is going to go way up. when you stop it returns to a much cooler state. This is normal operation. i think someone said that earlier.

Aside from that testing with prime95 use small fft also test cpu only. See what happens then. If you do not crash it may be a memory issue.

Hey bud , I did run the Prime95 small FFT test for a bit , i didn't run it for too long since i didn't want my cpu temp to stay around 90C for a while but no freezes showed on my pc over the course of a few minutes. But i should mention that even running the Ram test on Prime95 , It didn't freeze or make any errors even running for longer than a few minutes.
It's when i ran realbench that it made problems with freezes.
Also i ran Intel's diagnostics tool for CPU .
My Cpu passed the test though my pc froze multiple times similar to RealBench as i was doing the test.

KK now run memtest64 just to make sure..
https://www.techpowerup.com/memtest64/

Then you may need to test your drives. Use samsungs magican for the SSD and if you have a hard drive use its makers test software. IE WD uses data lifeguard or seagate uses seatools.
http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools.html
http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=3
http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/

If none these gives errors just play game as normal. Your system has been tested with some of the best tools. I would chalk the RealBench freezes as just overkill on testing.

I ran the memtest64 and made sure it uses all my memory and again.. no freezes.. I ran fire strike benchmark as well and i actually got a great score in comparison to others with the same cpu and gpu but still no freezes there either.

Except for the fact that I have slight freezes here and there that are odd to me.. plus .. if you guys could help me figure out a way to see whether my fans or any of the cooling components I have in my case even affect the CPU temp cause it really doesn't seem that way , to me it seems like the CPU runs and uses more resources and so it makes the temp sensor give a high reading automatically it really doesn't respond like I'd expect a sensor to respond
You can see the response in here in comparison to my CPU sensor that's built on the motherboard
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=gUI2djY8Ing
what happens in the video is a jump from 40 to 90 degrees as soon as i start prime95 , and then it makes my fans all ramp up in no time... whereas the motherboard CPUTIN sensor shows slow climbing and lower levels of temps (seems like this one's working properly)

I used to go to cnet. I no longer recommend it. Pretty much anything you download on that site tries to add bloatware to your system. You have to be vigilant during software install, or you will end up with something extra you will just have to uninstall.

You do not need some 3rd party program to install fresh drivers and apps. It is always best to go to the original site. The one exception to this would be going to Nvidia or Amd for gpu drivers, as opposed to the gpu manufacturer.
