My Computer Specs:

Processor: 2.9GHz no turbo 3MB

Memory: 8gb DDR3L 1600mhz (single channel)
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Storage: HDD 500gb

Ive had my gaming computer for around two months, so im not too knowledgeable on optimizing my computer for games besides tweaking some graphics settings in the menus.

So what im asking is what can i do to get the most out of my computer to improve my gaming performance.I know my computer is on the low end so i dont need any reviews on it or need to know why its bad, what i want to know is what the computer gaming enthusiasts do to get the most out of their computers, to squeeze out every ounce of frames that they can without sacrificing too much visual quality, and to keep their computers running smoothly for a long time. I mean it cant be as easy as just turning on your brand new computer, making sure windows and the drivers stay updated, tweak a few graphics settings and then play games, there must be programs you download or other computer settings to move around to keep the computers at their max potential.

Just to clarify i know the limitations of my computer(somewhat), i just want to learn how to best maintain and use my new and crappy gaming pc, tips that i can use in the future once i upgrade to something better.

Solution
a simple way to do some, is using

(these is all freeware programs and easy to use)

1. keeps your computer clean and easy to disable some service that starts on you computer

2. a good defragmentation progarm for your harddrive

3. sins you are using windows 10, this program can disable some survalience being made from microsoft and make you computer run better

if you want to do even more, you have to read up on tweaking windows. But i hope this can help you and i know other people will use other programs, i just like these and they are easy to use
The only thing I can see that would improve your performance is to upgrade your HDD to SSD. This will not help with gaming performance (perhaps loading times), but it will help make your computer seem more responsive overall.
