EDIT 3:
So I carefully checked everything and finally got the rig working- it was a bent pin. However there is a new issue. I got through booting, installed windows on a new SSD and everything went great! I logged on and changed the resolution to a higher resolution. Then I sat back and basked in the glow of the finally working rig. Then the computer appeared to go to sleep due to a few minutes of inactivity. Now my monitor shows no signal no matter what.

I attempted to connect a different monitor, and still nothing. No signal. I powered the rig down and started disconnecting things in an attempt to troubleshoot- until it was just CPU, GPU, PSU- and still nothing. I tried plugging the graphics card into another PCI-E slot, and the fans still spin entirely like everything is working fine- but I am getting no signal. What might have caused this?
Howdy all!

Just built up a computer and went to turn it on- and nothing. The monitor reads no signal.

Couple bits of information:

Power:

CD Drive, Heatsink fan, and LED's seem to power up just fine.

Graphics card- fans whirl once or twice, and then stops, and then repeat the process.
Hard Drive does not sound like it is booting up either.

Could it be that my CPU is not seated properly? I had a heck of a time installing the aftermarket heat sink.

Thanks!

EDIT 2:
New RAM did not solve the issue. Remounted CPU and Heatsink to no avail. Did a visual inspection on the CPU and found no bent pins. Additionally, I unplugged the HDD, CD Drive, and Fans so it was just PSU, GPU, CPU, and RAM and got nothing.

EDIT:
There are no beeps or noises at all.
I will try different RAM here first as per the suggestion...

Equipment:
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 R5 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7 GHz Socket AM3+ 220W FD9590FHHKWOF Desktop Processor - Black Edition
Radeon R9 290X Graphics CArd
750W Corsair PSU

i have a hard time placeing my heatsink back on also, so i usaully have another person help me when i do it.. but before you take your heatsink back off, take your memory sticks out, and reseat them properly. If the memory sticks is not in properly your computer will turn on, but it will not boot. Now if that do not work, take off your heatsink clean the processor and the heatsink well and reapply thermal paste right in the middle, do not use to much paste. You also do not need to spread it, for the heatsink will spread it on its own.

Check if your motherboard is making any beep sounds and consult your manual.

I would suggest booting with just the essentials. Check that all power cables are connected - mobo 24 pin and cpu 8 pin. Disconnect your graphics card and hard drive and cd drive. See if you can get it to POST. if not reseat the ram slots.

Last resort is to reseat the cpu. Inspect the socket to check if there's bent pins.

"You have the same GPU, motherboard, and CPU as me... i asked before have you tried remounting the Heatsink on correctly with new thermal paste?"

I did, but to no avail. Additionally, I changed out the memory and nothing. I am moving on to testing the GPU in another computer, and pulling out the entire motherboard to check to ensure there are no flexing or contact issues.

Im starting to worry that perhaps the CPU was DOA. There did not appear to be any bent pins.
