New computer not connection to internet

i recently put together my new pc and was wondering why it wont connect to the internet.

the computer is directly connected to the router but when i trouble shoot it says i need to download the driver for the network adapter but i cant do that because i dont have internet connection

use the cd that came with your motherboard, it will have the drivers there.

No cd, than use a friends computer to d/load the drivers to a flashdrive and install from there

Install the driver off the cd that came with your motherboard. Windows has some basic drivers but not for motherboards. If you don't have the CD, use another computer and put the drivers on a usb key.
