Hey guys,

I recently bought a bunch of parts for my new computer including the case, the CPU, the GPU, the motherboard, RAM, and the PSU. The only thing is I'm using a SSD and a HDD from my old computer. So my first question is do I need to go into the BIOS to do anything or will the motherboard automatically boot from the SSD which contains the OS. My second question is do I need to update the motherboard drivers or BIOS? I bought an ASRock H97 ATX Motherboard and an i5-4590 (motherboard link:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157564)

The ASRock website says that the last driver update was 7/29/15 for Windows 7 (which is what I currently have) and Windows 10 (which is what I want to update to ASAP.) I bought the motherboard on 11/26/15, so I shouldn't have to update right? And my last question is since I plan on upgrading to Windows 10 soon, should I first install my GPU drivers and then install Windows 10, or first upgrade and then install Windows 10?

Thanks a bunch,
Yoshi

Solution
Give it a try - it won't do any harm... but it almost certainly won't work.
Windows customises itself to your motherboard and processor during installation.
You will most likely need to format the SSD and re-install windows on it.
Back up ALL your information to the HDD first, then you will be able to access all the information on it when you attach it to your new PC
