new computer shutting down after an hour of gaming

I recently upgraded to a gtx 1080 with a Ryzen 7 1700. I can play video games for about an hour before it randomly shuts off. I cannot turn it back on without unplugging and replugging the psu cord. I have 5 fans and 3 heat outputs and my temps are Farely low. Please help! The only thing I recently upgraded is the 1080 but I’m not playing crazy graphic demanding games!

I have a ryzen 7 1700. A gtx 1080. a 650w power supply and 16 gb of ram

It's always tricky to troubleshoot without swapping parts in and out, but a complete shutdown is typically one of two things. Either CPU overheating, or a dying power supply. "Typically".

What are the temps I should be seeing for my cpu? No overclocking or anything

I think the thermal shutdown is at around 90c. But you really don't want to be over 70c ideally.

I did not say a 650W won't work. I said not ANY 650W would work. EVGA have some bad apples with that wattage level. Any model you have specifically.

Try another PSU if you can, which is well rated and of good wattage.

Which caused an increase of power usage. You might have pushed a marginal PSU over the edge.
