bought a new all in one to replace our current one, when to stick in the ssd drive but cant get it to boot. The ssd has w7 and the new one is w8. Now i turned off the secure boot in the bios and legacy so i could get it to detect the hard drive. Now it starts booting to windows 7 but i get the blue screen, any ideas?

The hard drive with Windows 7 has drivers from different hardware.

There may be a way to get it to work, using a hiren's boot CD, but no one has ever attempted this when I've suggested it...so the only other option is to get a Windows 7 disc and reinstall.

Reinstall the OS.
What you see is very, very common. Old drive with old OS + all new hardware = failed to boot.

You bought an AIO with Win 8...why are you trying to use the old Win 7?
