Hello!

So I was quite excited to go buy some more RAM for my PC. I got it 3 years back and I decided it was time to upgrade my memory. I'm going from 8gb of DDR3 to 16gb of DDR4. I went to my computer shop, picked up a Corsair LPX DDR4 2400MHz kit, and went to go install it into my PC. To my disappointment, it didn't fit. At all. Either way. I have no idea what to do, I dropped 170 on this RAM and it doesn't even fit into my PC. Is it defective or is there something I missed? Something I'm not taking into account? I've checked multiple other threads with no result to my answer. It simply just does not fit. Picture provided below.

@SR-71 Blackbird So I should return the ram? Any less expensive alternatives? How much of a performance difference would DDR3 pose against DDR4. 16gb in both scenarios.
