New corsair tx650m power supply made loud pop, doesnt work anymore..

I ordered a Corsair TX650M from newegg because my old power supply stopped working. When it came in the mail I opened it up and installed it into my computer. After everything was done I pushed the power button and suddenly I hear a loud pop sound. Now it doesn't turn on anymore.

Is the power supply broken?
Motherboard is dead maybe?

Considering your old one died and you blew a new one plugging it in, I would tend to think your motherboard or something is grounding out and killing your PSU's. I'd be leary to try another one in there. I don't think a brand new Corsair PSU would blow up upon first use without something being wrong with the rest of the things hooked up to it. Especially a TX series. They are a good brand and a good series and these things are tested very well before leaving.

yes i do have a couple of spare power supplies.
