Hello, specs are as follows.
Asus Maximus Xi Hero (purchased new)
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (x4) 3000mhz (purchased new)
I9-9900k (purchased new)
Asus rog Strix 1080ti (purchases used)
Samsung nvme m.2 500gb (purchased new)

Booted the system up and set the ddr4 to 3000mhz but did not change any other bios settings. I then got a blue screen with problem code memory malfunction (or similar) and ran the windows memory diagnostic. Said I had memory issues and to contact computer manufacturer. Decided to see if I could narrow it down to a set of the sticks. Ran two at a time and both also stated memory problems. I will now run each one individually but I’m stuck thinking what are the odds?

Is it a motherboard problem? How can I check if I do not have another motherboard sitting around?

Thanks.
