It's nice to see a new CS after so many years, but in my opinion it lacks new features. From the gameplay trailers it looks like Source with better graphics and a few new weapons.

I'm gonna keep spamming this question everywhere until someone gives me an answer: How do you aim with a joystick? Does it have a motion sensor? There're quite a few FPS on consoles, and now CS joins in, and you have to be fast and aim sharp... which I've seen only with a mouse so far. So?

What do you mean by that? Ever since Counter Strike turned into a Quake clone (CS 1.3 and up), it became a run-and-gun for the kiddies. Did you ever play the 0.6x up to 0.9x beta versions of CS? If not, you missed the hey day of CS. Now it's just another crappy shooter for kids.

I played all the way from CS Beta 3 to CSS with the TF2 engine. And that is BS. You simply played on shitty servers.

Graphics aren't the biggie here... let's see how creative players can get with the maps and the physics, that's what made CS so damn good.

Boosting, spamming thru walls, bunnyhopping, learning the appropriate tap timing to guns and the crazy stuff you can do with grenades is what made the game and this video shows none of that hopefully it isn't another letdown. Source was unplayable until the 1.6ers took over, hopefully this won't require a complete makeover as well

Maybe. Maybe not.

If you played CS from the beta days, then you should have picked up the drop in weapon lethality from around 0.9 Beta to what became the accepted standard in CS 1.6. Hell, in 1.6 you had to shoot your opponent 3 times in the head with a .45 before he dropped. And that is why sneaky tactics fell by the wayside. The run-and-gun kiddie quake was born.

If they ever brought in a hardcore mode, that re-instated the original weapon lethality, I'd be back in a second, packing my 7.62mm bolt action scout.

Did you ever play Quake? It's not even remotely close to CS. CS: wander around the map, hide, shoot, trick the opponent, choose weapons... Quake: flying around the map with jump pads, rocket jumps, frag everything that moves, evil pickups (QUAD DAMAGE!). THAT's a good shooter! I can't even play CS, it bores the hell out of me. Don't compare it to Quake.

Sure, but still far from Quake. Ive been whining about that since I started playing. My biggest grip is: A F**** 5.56NATO to the head IS DEADLY. But that another story.

Ive played both league and pub (highly competitive ones) and CS/CSS has always been a sound game to me. Make a sound and you are dead.

The good thing about CS is that there are LOTS of completely different servers with unique rules and play styles.

I dont see how can anyone expect to land a single kill with a joystick...

I like the part where the GIGN is taking cover from fire, talk bout an unrealistic portrayal of the game. In real Counter Strike he'd be running headlong, firing a burst for a head shot and then jumping until his reticle shrinks enough to make another headshot.

12 years old do not survive in a decent CSS server. They will rage quit after looking at the scoreboard (0:20 or worst). Especially if they have to play with a joystick. Imagine the free kills and the trolling opportunities. They will be so mad...
