Hi,

My pc's CPU (i5 4670k) is getting relatively out of date on the newest games. It's starting to struggle. Considering I need a new motherboard anyways I was looking at AMD, I've had a bad experience with AMD before (FX-8350) which is the only thing holding me back.

However, I heard Ryzen is pretty good. I'm lookng for something with performance similar to i7-4770k OR i7-4790k.

I'd like to know if AMD is actually stable and a good choice and what AMD CPU gives me the most similar performance to the CPU's listed above?

Thanks in advance

AMD's current CPU's are as good as anything else.
I believe a 1600x will give you about the same performance as a 4790k, however, Intel has more headroom if you're looking for an extreme OC.
I don't know what is your total system spec. However, you have 4th gen mobo so I think if you upgrade to 4770 or 4790 (K will be better to OC if you have Z mobo), those two CPU will be able to go head to head with Ryzen 1600 in gaming performance. You can check out on youtube 4770 or 4790 vs Ryzen 1600.
