MSI Z77A-GD65 Intel Z77 Socket 1155 mobo
i7 3770k CPU
24GB RAM
AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU
128GB boot SSD
4TB HDD
600W PSU

My PC is used mainly for digital media production- so audio, video and photo editing. Gaming on the side.

I feel like my CPU is a little old now, my GPU is fine as I recently upgraded that and 24GB RAM is doing me just fine.

Is there a CPU worth upgrading to?

And if I were to upgrade CPU would I also need a new mobo?

My budget all in would be probably £300. I presume there's nothing on the market for that price that would surpass my current CPU performance noticeably.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Your cpu is the best on that MB, no way to get any meaningful CPU upgrade with the MB. For budget choice with your audio/video/photo editing, Ryzen 1600/1700 will serve you well, but it requires new MB and new DDR4 ram. 300 is not enough to cover. If your cooler is good, overclock your CPU for now and save money for a CPU/MB/DDR 4 ram upgrade, and maybe psu.

For the budget you have right now, I suggest you add a faster ssd to do video editing, could be your hdd bottlenecking your speed. Are you editing video on HDD?

You got about all you can get without buying a new board, CPU and memory.
I would buy a decent cooler and overclock it to the 4.6 area that would give you a performance boost.
A small SSD for a scratch drive could help.
