Greetings, first of all I'd like to share with you my computer specs:

Motherboard: G41M-VS3
RAM: 4gb (2x2gb) DDR3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2,83GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3 GIGABYTE
PSU: https://i.imgur.com/jvtIUK1.jpg

Alright, so this is my problem:
I used to have a Core 2 Duo E8400 3,0GHz, today i upgraded it to Core 2 Quad Q9550.
Based in my current game experince I found an issue. I used to play CS:GO since core 2 duo with 30fps (Medium graphics with 1920x1280 resolution). I've got the Quad Core and the fps won't change(increase). Where is the problem? Isn't there any diference between two processors? Do i need to make any configuration for the new processor or what?

Myself, I doubted for GPU issue... is my 730 effecting the fps?

I'm planing to upgrade the gpu to a GTX 1050 ti 4gb GDDR5. Will it effect the fps of my CS:GO?
Also, does my G41M-VS3 support 1050? Does my PSU support 1050? If no, what voltage will support my GPU?

Solution
The GT730 was a budget minimum gaming card.....7 years ago.....

I'd be surprised if it can launch any modern games.

A GTX1050 is a nice 1080P entry-level card...but fine for most games at 60 Hz refresh, 1920x1080 res

INcidentally, you can't just swap CPUs, power up, and hope Windows just figures it all out and suddenly magically works with the extra cores...; you might need to check to see if the correct CPU is now detected/accounted for in device manager...

So it means that the GPU is the problem,.. i see.

I want to know if my board and cpu can run 1050ti without a problem???

[strike]Also how to cehck if it is detected in device manager? It already shows the CPU at "My Computer"'s footer.[/strike] Check this: http://prntscr.com/jjan1j

Some old motherboards have issues with recent generation cards...

No certainties can be reasonably issued in this case, sorry....; but the 1050/1050Ti series is a very popular 1080P card, maybe you can find someone using that combo in the assorted benchmark user-forums, etc....? GOod luck

Well, I understand you, but if my mobo supports the 1050/1050ti, what about the current PSU?

You might be right somehow becouse fps dropped by 3 or 4 since i installed the Core 2 Quad...

... what should i do for this case? Any possibility to adjust the game's cpu usage?
