New cpu and mobo will not post

I just installed a brand new i7-4790k and a asrock h97m anniversary and the motherboard gets power and everything boots but my cpu doesn't heat up and it doesn't post it gives a no signal to my monitor I'm out of my zone here help would be much appreciated

Do you have the CPU power plugged in?

Yes I have the 4 pin atx connector plugged in

Double check your connections. It sounds like you may have the power button connection going to the wrong place on the motherboard, maybe? I'm hoping it's simple, like that, because if its not, its something much worse...bad PSU or motherboard.

Do you have a PSU tester?

All the connections are fine I am positive of that but I'm not sure I'm pretty sure something is faulty but I have no way of knowing which one it is

Do any fans turn on? Does anything turn on except the motherboard light?

Yah everything turns on all the lights are on my motherboard doesn't have a power light but everything that runs off it turns on
